After injuries terminated his pro-baseball career, Pete went into coaching, while simultaneously building recreational facilities in California and Arizona. Pete has built and operated numerous tennis clubs, golf courses, country clubs and indoor athletic facilities. His efforts garnered the attention of Howard Hughes and many others.

Perhaps some of the more interesting aspects of Pete's story are the famous people you will encounter in the book. I really enjoyed this book. I picked it up because I had been reading all of Maeve Binchy's novels and I was rapidly running out of them. This book was on a display table with some of Maeve Binchy's work at the bookstore, because they are both contemporary Irish women authors. I found thir writing styles similar, and I found myself really engrossed in this novel by the end. I would recommend it for anyone who has read Binchy and enjoyed her, and I am pleased to have found another Irish author that I can enjoy as much. I am currently reading another one of her novels and I plan to read them all. It is satisfying escapist literature at it's best.

I have read many of the author's books, but I think this one is the best I have read so far. The characters are well written and you can feel your feelings for the characters change throughout the book. The novel ties in the thoughts of all sides and you feel more as though the situations are real, and you are a friend hearing about it first hand. Great chick lit read!

Review of "This Present Triumph"

Ephesians is a basic and yet critical book both for the life of the New Testament Church and Christian. Thus, we remain indebted to and thankful for new scholarly insights that assist us in approaching this important book in a fresh way. Dr. Richard Cozart, has provided such a treatment in his recently published work on Ephesians, which contains the fruit of his doctoral research and writing at the University of Wales. Here, Cozart notes the connection between the Isaianic New Exodus motif and Ephesians’ focus on the present triumph of the people of God. Cozart also furnishes important clues for properly interpreting the “Armor of God” found in Ephesians 6. Rather than rummaging through the entire canon to define the pieces of armor as do many commentators, he carefully defines the various pieces of armor based upon how Paul uses the same word, words, or concepts earlier in his letter. While such an approach seems to be common sense, Cozart’s material is the first that I have seen that clearly articulates this proposition. Cozart combines his rich experience as a counselor, pastor, professor, and scholar to keep the body of Christ up to date on the latest perspectives in the Book of Ephesians. My hope and prayer is that this book will be added to the personal libraries of pastor and scholar alike as well as all interested laymen.

A better way of reading Ephesians

Richard Cozart has brought a completely new way of understanding Paul's letter to the Ephesians. He explores the place of exodus and paschal sacrifice imagery and identifies themes that other commentators on the letter have missed. I cannot see how any future research on this letter can ignore the conclusions of this work and would encourage all researchers, pastors and serious readers of the NT to become acquainted with its powerful arguments. It is too important to be ignored!

As the material anchors of globalization, North America’s global port cities channel flows of commodities, capital, and tourists. This book explores how economic globalization processes have shaped these cities' political institutions, social structures, and urban identities since the mid-1970s. Although the impacts of financialization on global cities have been widely discussed, it is curious that how the global integration of commodity chains actually happens spatially ― creating a quantitatively new, global organization of production, distribution, and consumption processes ― remains understudied. The book uses New York City, Los Angeles, Vancouver, and Montreal as case studies of how once-redundant spaces have been reorganized, and crucially, reinterpreted, so as to accommodate new flows of goods and people ― and how, in these processes, social, environmental, and security costs of global production networks have been shifted to the public.
