Excellent Book for getting started

Last year I attended Greg Spalenka's Artist As Brand workshop. As part of this wonderful program, we were given this workbook. It's packed with tons of great advice. It details how to find niche markets, make a business plan, and find out how to discover your core values as an art and a person. This workbook contains all the business information that you didn't get when you went through art school. Over the last year since I took the workshop, the information in this book as been on the fringes of my mind. It gives great insights about marketing as well. Social media, blogging, and tons of self promotion. If you can't attend a workshop in person, this is the next best thing!

Living proof

I took Greg's workshop about three or four years ago. At the time I was looking to try and find a new way to get my name out there and start building a business around myself and my art. The traditional route had left me deflated and frustrated with the industry as a whole. During Greg's workshop, I began to build a plan for myself. Starting with actual products to engage a new audience for myself. I also built a website and designed a logo for my new company. I started seeing results right away. I was creating on my terms and people were responding to it. Since the workshop, I've begun to achieve the goals I set for myself, ahead of schedule. I've also gained a really nice following that continues to grow. My work has gotten me recognized by some high end clients and now my list of clients has some very big names on it, including Katy Perry, ADI, The Ellen Show, The Chiodo Brothers, Sandy Collora, Tom Woodruff Jr., Sota Toys, Zica Toys, and many more. I also was honored to be awarded a commission to create a 9 foot tall bronze for the City of Arcadia, Ca.. Which was recently installed and unveiled with great success. The seeds that were planted during Greg's workshop have grown and are now producing wonderful fruit. I highly recommend his class and this workbook. If you're looking to succeed as an artist and do it on your terms, you need to give this a try.

Greg is dedicated to empowering artists! His Workbook has a detailed guide unlike any other book to market the work YOU love to make. This book has an exceptional understanding of modern social media techniques that are not taught in art school In fact, I haven't come across any source that includes this knowledge. As I grow as an artist this resource continually offers me new solutions. Whether you are a student, just out of art school, or a professional looking to grow - this book has your answers (to questions you don't know to ask!)
